Fire Emblem Engage continues to look stunning in new gaming clips
Nintendo Direct of September 2022 opens with official reveal about Fire Emblem Engagea brand new Fire Emblem game, Will be released next January. And, in the days since, officially Japanese fire icon Twitter account shared clips of some of your future team members in battle – and it looks pretty good.
The first is the main character, who is named ‘Colgate-chan’ by the Internet. They’re actually called Alear – not quite as appealing, are they? – and they are a Divine Dragon. This short snippet shows our blue and red haired hero delivering a fatal blow to his opponent, and from the animations to the beautiful colors, we’re impressed.
We also met Vander, a knight and a Dragon Guardian. He’s the one taking care of Alear, who has just woken up from a 1,000-year slumber and is your typical stern, serious old man.
In a very different position from Alear, Vander is also in charge and can be seen moving around in combat. The environments look much more detailed and the Smart System seems to really rely on those key animations!
The latest clip is of Clan, a mage character as cute as a button. Except when he throws fire at you. We get to see both Clan and Vander – along with a bunch of other characters in the reveal trailer – but this gives us a closer look at their skills.
In another new indoor location, we were extremely impressed by the fire and light effects, which seems to be a significant step up from 2019 Fire symbol: Three houses.
Fire Emblem Engage is looking pretty good so far and we can’t believe we only had to wait four months to get to work. It came out on January 20, 2023 and we already know roughly How much space will it take?. You can pick up your pre-orders for the game, including the Divine Edition (if left over!) right here:
