First Armstrong Tulip Festival blooms in North Okanagan – Okanagan
Thousands of tulips have sprouted in Armstrong, BC, creating the perfect backdrop for photos, live music, horseback riding and picnics.
The Armstrong Tulip Festival boasts hundreds of acres of tulips in full bloom, making for a colorful show to enjoy. Blooming Festival founder Alexis Szarek created the massively popular Abbotsford Tulip Festival, moving it and her family to the Okanagan in 2020.
“It’s been almost three years in production,” says Szarek. “We planted tulips for a festival in 2020 but then we got close to COVID so this is the first time in a long time we have tulips.”
Visitors can walk through rows of tulips, visit photo props and even take home some flowers at the U-pick garden.
“We have grown 350,000 tulips and there are 22 different varieties in the field,” says Szarek.
Armstrong Tulip Festival runs until May 22, and for more information on the event, visit www.bloomflowerfilities.com
