Flash call verification method available on WhatsApp
WhatsApp typically requires the user to enter a six-digit verification code sent on a certain phone number via SMS or call to verify the user’s account. However, the company is rumored to be working on another verification method called Flash Call Verification to ease the process.
WABetainfo has now reported that the company has finally started rolling out the feature Android app just because iOS doesn’t provide a public API that allows apps to read call history.
Flash Call Verification is faster and doesn’t require users to enter any verification codes to authenticate their accounts. With Flash Call verification method user will receive a call and then it will automatically disconnect and verification will be done and WhatsApp will then login to your account. You will also be able to see the phone number you received calls from in your call history.
For Flash Call verification to work, users will need to allow certain permissions for WhatsApp, including call history access and call access permissions.
Meanwhile, the company is also testing some new features for its platform in beta. This includes a new group icon editor, the ability to hide online status, last seen etc from specific contacts and more.
