On Thursday, Flo Rida posted to her Instagram Story. He shared his first public statement about his son’s hospitalization and “tragic fall”.
“Wonderful day, thank you everyone for your concern and prayers for my son. He is receiving the best medical care and has miraculously survived the catastrophic fall. I ask for your continued prayers as he goes through his recovery but I appreciate that this remains a private matter.”
Earlier that day, Steven Haddad, the attorney representing the child’s mother, Alexis Adams, spoke to TMZ. Haddad shared that Zohar Dillard fell at least 50 feet from the apartment window. According to Haddad, doctors believe the baby’s survival is a “miracle”.
In addition, the lawyer revealed that the 6-year-old will have to learn how to walk. Currently, the baby is in a full body cast, limited movement.
Finally, Haddad explained that doctors are still determining when Dillard can return home. However, his mother was by his side “every day at the hospital”.
The child’s mother, Alexis Adams, filed a lawsuit
As The Shade Room previously reported, Dillard’s injuries included “multiple pelvic fractures, broken left ankle, third-degree liver tear, internal bleeding, and a collapsed lung.”
His mother filed a negligent lawsuit on behalf of the property owner of the apartment building. As well as a construction company and a window installation company.
In the lawsuit, Adams is said to have said that the apartment building where her son fell had “windows that cause dangerous conditions.” More specifically, she alleges that “improperly sized screens” on the windows “caused her son to fall to the concrete floor”.
TSR previously shared a statement from Adams.
“As a single mother of a child with special needs, this feels like a nightmare. My heart broke into a million pieces. I am deeply saddened, angry and struggling to accept the fact that my only child has been seriously injured as a result of the willful negligence of the landlord and others involved in not performing the necessary safety measures.”
Flo Rida is not named as a plaintiff in the lawsuit. In addition, at this time, the rapper’s relationship with the child is still unclear.
Furthermore, whether the 6-year-old was alone during the incident is unknown.
