Until Ram came out with the TRX, the Ford F-150 Raptor was the last to arrive in the full-size, all-terrain pickup truck family. For now, we’ll have to wait for the Raptor R to come out to see if Ford can reclaim the crown, but the current Raptor is no slouch either. Especially with the Performance Pack 37 like the Omaze . package currently giving away.

Here’s what we thought of the new Raptor when we last drove it:
“The speedometer hits 83 mph after hitting the gas while exiting a corner in the desolate sands, with 2021 Ford F-150 Raptortire firmly planted down uneven surface. Another rough turn quickly appeared, at which point I lifted the gas and skidded lightly brake into the corner. The truck drifted predictably and gradually until I saw the corner exit, bury the big pedal foot and send it down the next short track. I hardly drive this truck in a fit of rage and have never seen this stretch of road before, but I have full confidence in how the new Raptor will react.
“Same thoughts crossed my mind as I then sent it gliding over the crests of deep mountains, climbing hills and over uncertain rocky terrain, and hurling it through shaped portals. The cone is placed like a giant Super-G full of sand. slalom courses on either side of the dunes. The new Raptor gobbles it all up and spits it all out – sometimes in two blocks of sand – with better stability and more sustained power delivery than any Raptor before it. It frankly behaves as if it was built to do nothing else.
“But this is not like a one-way machine. Around town, the crew-only Raptor now benefits from all the amenities and thoughtful carvings that adorn Latest F-150The car’s cabin, and it comes standard with a 12-inch dashboard and 12-inch central display with Sync 4 and wireless smartphone connectivity. Its daily ride is smooth, flat, and has almost no aftershocks after hitting the rough patches. You’ll feel happier spending the day behind the wheel, which is a boon as its 36-gallon fuel tank provides it with over 500 miles of highway driving range.
“A single change is responsible for most of this, and that is the third-generation Raptor that ditches the leaf-spring rear suspension for a five-link setup with coil springs. If that sounds familiar, it’s the most basic Pickup Ramincluding the Raptor’s most obvious competitor, RAM 1500 TRX. This setting makes the car go smoother on the road, but it also helps the truck to put more force on the road (or ground) with much less axle rotation. No sled took part in the event, but I fully expect improved trailer stability in cross sections and on winding tracks thanks to the new suspension’s fifth link, the side panhard bar.
“Ford Raptors are currently shipping and base price is $65,840, including $1,695 arrival fee. That’s $7,705 more than last year’s team cab, but there’s more standard equipment built in with a new higher price tag. The 37-inch tire option is another $7,500, and with that you also get the unique Recaro bucket seat and other trim differences. But there’s a twist that makes the price really $13,650: the 37-inch tires can only be ordered if you also buy the $6,150 801A trim package. It’s an attractive package that includes a lot of gadgets like a Torsen front differential, Prepare Blue-Cruise, B&O premium audio, 360-degree camera, Tow Technology team, and more. Personally, though, I’d rather use its own 801A without the 37-inch rubber.
“I’ve been a fan of the roll-link rear suspension in pickup trucks since Ram debuted it, but I wasn’t prepared for the off-road balance and poise it gave the Ford Raptor. . It may have to do with the fact that it was an execution only for the Raptor but not on all F-150s. That allowed the engineers to really optimize it for the Raptor’s off-road duty, and it didn’t take long to get a feel for how it brought the chassis to life and appreciate how it could ease all the power that the 3.5-liter EcoBoost can muster. . Shares of the Raptor have risen significantly in 2021, but it’s hard not to think how much higher it could go when Ford wraps up the Raptor R next year. ”
