Former Jimtown teacher Mike Hosinski was arrested for hitting a student
According to the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office, the Jimtown teacher who was caught in a surveillance video assaulting a student has been arrested on a preliminary battery charge.
Michael Hosinski, 61, has yet to be formally charged.
Hosinski was arrested and the sheriff’s office requested formal charges from the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office.
Hosinski is a sociology teacher and JV football coach for Jimtown High School. Following the incident on February 25, the Baugo Community School District granted Hosinski an early retirement.
The prosecutor’s office said a probable cause hearing would be held on Friday or Saturday to determine if there was cause for the arrest. The prosecutor’s office will then make a decision on charges.
