KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) — A former Kansas City Chiefs player died Thursday at federal prison in Leavenworth.
Junior Siavii, 43, was found unresponsive in his cell Thursday afternoon, according to the US Department of Justice.
Siavii was taken to a local hospital, but the staff there declared him dead.
Officials say that no staff member or prisoner is in danger at any time in this situation. Siavii was jailed after being charged with using a firearm.
He played for the captain for two seasons, making his debut in 2006.
