Stanley Joseph Weaver, 61, formerly of McDonough, and now Jackson, was sentenced to 188 months in prison followed by 10 years of supervised release by U.S. District Judge Tilman E. “Tripp” Self later. when he had previously pleaded guilty to distributing child pornography. According to court documents, FBI agents determined Weaver distributed child pornography on public peer-to-peer shareware to FBI undercover agents on multiple occasions, most recently on the 12th. January 2021. Weaver was taken into custody on January 23, 2021. . Weaver shared a total of 342,756 files (524.8 GB) of child pornography involving minors, infants and toddlers, and sadism in two interactions with the undercover spy plus a total of 54 child pornographic images and six videos in two exposures to foreign law enforcement partners.
“The number of times Weaver is sharing child pornography is increasing,” said Philip Wislar, Acting Special Agent in charge of FBI Atlanta. “Identifying and prosecuting predators that not only victimize innocent children, but also continually share those gruesome images for others to see, is one of the FBI’s highest priorities.”
The case comes as part of the Safe Childhood Project, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing sexual exploitation and abuse of children, launched by the Department of Justice in May. 2006. Led by the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the DOJ’s Child Pornography and Exploitation Division, the Child Safe Childhood Project coordinates federal, state, and local resources to identify locating, apprehending and prosecuting individuals who exploit children, as well as identifying and rescuing victims.
