Fossils: 99-million year old crab discovered in amber
A tiny crab is the primary to be discovered trapped in amber from the dinosaur period. It lived in a forest space of South-East Asia 99 million years in the past.
Remarkably just like fashionable crabs, the 5-millimetre-long crustacean is totally preserved, making it “probably the most full crab [fossil] ever found”, says Javier Luque at Harvard College.
