Fox News’ Bret Baier Shuts Down Trump Excuse, Says ‘Obama Documents Were Handled Properly’

As it became increasingly clear that Donald Trump could have violation of the Espionage Act By storing “top secret” government documents at his home, the former president used the familiar pretext: Obama did the same.

“President Barack Hussein Obama has kept 33 million pages of documents, most of which have been classified. How many of them involve the kernel? Word is, a lot! ” trumpet posted on its social media platform on Friday.

But shortly after, Fox News’ head of politics, Bret Baier, was heartbroken to inform viewers that Trump’s efforts were in vain.

“There was a process, and note that President Obama” followed those processes to get those documents to Chicago, Baier explained. While “there were a lot of complaints that they weren’t posted online as promised,” he said, “the way they were handled was done by that process.”

Baier added: “President Obama’s documents were handled properly. “And the question is whether there is a trail of paperwork and process to these documents if that’s what the Trump and former president’s lawyers are arguing about.”

Specifically, Trump claims that he has personally “declassified” all the documents in question — hinting at Michael Scott declare bankruptcy above Office—But it’s Baier also note on Fox’s Friday afternoon, things are not so simple.

“Now that’s a huge power that the president has, a far-reaching power to declassify, but there are also mandatory regulations, a process that has to happen,” he explained. “It’s not like you wave a wand and say all these boxes are declassified.”
