Fox News Does Awkward About-Face on Kanye West After Antisemitic Rant
On Fox News, where “White Lives Matter” seems worth celebrating, the threat of “death 3” to all Jews is a bridge too far.
The network went through a good part of last week inflated Kanye West is for sport “White Lives Matter” shirt at Paris Fashion Weekcomplete with a sit-down interview lasted two nights above Tucker Carlson Tonight. But in the days since, the home team slowly realized that they might have picked the wrong hero.
It starts on Sunday, when Fox & Friends Weekend Hosts Will Cain, Pete Hegseth and Rachel Campos-Duffy devoted an early-morning segment to describing West’s Instagram suspension — alleging that rapper Diddy was being controlled by Jews — as “completely Jewish.” total dictatorship,” “totally anti-American,” and “just Wrong.” They also suggested that West would never have been censored on social media if he hadn’t appeared on Tucker Carlson’s show.
But apparently, the servers made those comments before seeing the next tweet caused Twitter to lock his account. That message, is Posted on Saturday night and has since been removed by the foundation, read, “I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’ll die [sic] child 3 About the JEWISH people. The funny thing is that I can’t really be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jewish too.
Just two hours after declaring West a victim of unfair censorship, hosts Fox were forced to make a dramatic reversal. After learning what he actually posted, Cain called the comments “shocking” and “pretty ugly”, while Hegseth said they called them “regrettable”.
“We talked about it before without knowing about these tweets and of course said they would set a goal — after what he said to Tucker, there would definitely be a goal,” Hegseth said. “But in this particular case, I mean he brought that goal with him.”
Cain then made the roundabout argument that if you really want to “expose” racism and anti-Semitism, then society shouldn’t be “continuously silenced, censored, and censored.” those who endorse it. Doing so will make us unaware of what is lurking “under the surface”.
“That’s a good point,” Hegseth said.
The incident continued on Monday, when Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo expressed her support for West’s fashion statement and disgust at anti-Semitism on her account. His Twitter. “There’s nothing wrong with his ‘White Lives Matter’ shirt, okay? Because white people’s lives matter, black people’s lives matter, everybody’s lives matter,” she said. “But this tweet is completely baseless.”
And while Fox News is highlighting West’s struggles with mental illness following the tweet, with one reporter pointing at report that he was “in the middle of a psychotic episode”, Tucker Carlson had a very different message for viewers just days earlier.
After airing season two of his lengthy interview with the rapper, Carlson directly dismissed the idea that West was “crazy or mentally ill or bipolar or struggling with mental illness. ” “The theme is always the same,” he said. “He’s an asshole, don’t listen to him.”
“Not crazy,” he concluded. “Worth a listen, even if you disagree with him.”
