Fox News Gives Up on Silencing Tucker Producer Suing Them

One day after Fox News Complaint filed with the New York Supreme Court to silence a producer Tucker Carlson now suing the network, the conservative cable giant withdrew on Tuesday.

“PLEASE NOTE that… Plaintiff Fox News Network,

LLC, hereby ceases this proceeding without prejudice and without any cost to any party,” Fox attorneys said in a notice of termination filed Tuesday at same court.

Abby Grossberg, Tucker Carlson senior producer and head of reservations, has applied two separate lawsuits against Fox News on Monday night alleging that the network tried to get her and her former boss Maria Bartiromo to admit defeat in a $1.6 billion Dominion defamation lawsuit.

Alleging that the network’s attorneys prompted her to give misleading testimony about Fox’s baseless reporting of voter fraud during the 2020 election, Grossberg alleges that the effort was part of The network’s culture of discrimination and contempt for women. Shortly before her lawsuits were filed in New York and Delaware courts, the network sought a court order to silence her, claiming her legal action “threatened disclosure” privileged information of Fox’s attorney-client” that she shared with the network’s attorneys.

After Fox News withdrew the complaint on Tuesday, Grossberg’s attorneys Parisis G. Filippatos and Tanvir H. Rahman said in a statement to The Daily Beast: “Although our office is fully prepared, enough and willing to argue with the New York Supreme Court why Fox News is baseless. and the retaliatory lawsuit that sought to prevent Ms. Grossberg from calling out her abhorrent experiences at the Network was frivolous, Fox News wisely decided to forgo its apparently futile claims against Ms. Grossberg. We remain ready and eager to vindicate Fox News’ blatant and repeated violations of Ms. Grossberg’s rights, including her right not to be unfounded in retaliation for her unlawful conduct, in the Southern District of New York and in the Delaware Supreme Court.”

Fox News did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Grossberg alleged in her lawsuits that she was “trained and intimidated” by Fox’s attorneys to give false testimony in her Dominion’s removal. In her testimony, Grossberg said she didn’t care whether the claims made on Bartiromo’s show — where she worked until last year — were true, adding that neither did she. believe it is important to correct false claims.

According to Grossberg, Fox’s attorneys urged her not to mention male executives and online hosts in an effort to protect them from being blamed in the Dominion lawsuit. In addition, she claimed that the network asked her to downplay a written exchange with then-senior vice president of weekend news David Clark, who told her that “today will be there was no ‘reality check'” before a Bartiromo segment featuring Rudy Giuliani.

Grossberg further claims that she has witnessed rampant stigma, sexism, and anti-Semitism online. For example, she alleges that Fox brass saw Bartiromo as a “mad bitch” who was in “menopause” and that the Carlson program staff regularly made anti-Semitic jokes or mentions lewd to the sexual attractiveness of many female public figures.

On her first day on Carlson’s show, following Grossberg’s outfit, she noticed that the program’s New York offices had pictures of then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wearing a skimpy swimsuit. She also accused Justin Wells, Carlson’s top producer, of asking her if Bartiromo and House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy had an affair.

Grossberg added that when she filed a complaint about being harassed by two male producers on Carlson’s show, human resources met with her to tell her she was underperforming. in his work.

“Fox News Media has hired an independent external consultant to immediately investigate the concerns raised by Ms. Grossberg, which came after a significant performance review. We will vigorously defend these claims,” a Fox News spokesperson told New York Times on Monday night in response to Grossberg’s lawsuits.
