Linebacker Fred Warner believes the San Francisco 49ers can win Super Bowl LVII with rookie Brock Purdy as their starting quarterback.

The 49ers turned Purdy into final choice of the 2022 NFL Draft but later signed with Garoppolo restructuring contract in August to keep him as a backup for Lance. It is unclear if the 49ers intended to attempt to land Mayfield, who demanded his release after he lost his starting job and position on the Carolina depth charts. On Sunday night it was report that the 49ers are signing veteran backup Josh Johnson.
Purdy will start the 8-4 49ers against 5-6 Tampa Bay Buccaneers next Sunday after Tampa Bay faces the 4-8 New Orleans Saints on Monday night.
