Fridley man sentenced to 18 years in prison for drugs
MINNEAPOLIS – A 48-year-old Fridley man was sentenced to 18 years in prison for selling methamphetamine and illegally possessing a firearm.
John Juneau was convicted of one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, one count of possession of methamphetamine and one count of possession of a firearm while continuing to commit drug trafficking.
Since Juneau had multiple felony convictions, he was also charged with one count of gun possession as a felony.
Law enforcement executed a search warrant on February 1, 2019, where they met Juneau and two others. During the search, they found three plastic bags containing methamphetamine. Testing found Juneau’s DNA on the bags.
Police executed another search warrant in July 2019 on a property in Coon Rapids. Officers said they saw Juneau trying to leave the mansion through a window.
Officers found methamphetamine, two pistols, a safe containing $6,000 in cash, scales and several empty plastic bags inside the mansion.
After the prison sentence, Juneau will serve a five-year sentence of supervised release.
