However, after their confrontation at the Yankees Stadium, it was Gennadiy Golovkin who released the farewell photos on social networks, telling the Mexican star in an Instagram post:
“Don’t miss me too much, see you on September 17th.”
Their meeting at Yankees Stadium will be their last head-to-head before they meet again in game week of the much-awaited matchup.

Since losing to Alvarez in 2018, Golovkin (42-1-1, 37 KOs) went on to win the next four bouts, taking the WBA, IBF and IBO middleweight titles. The Kazakh boxer last fought in April 2022, where he scored a technical knockout victory in the ninth round over Ryota Murata.
