Georgia shooting: 2 dead at party with more than 100 teenagers

DOUGLASVILLE, Georgia –

A shooting in Georgia killed two of more than 100 teenagers gathered at a house party Saturday, with six others injured, authorities said.

Investigators are stringing together what happened at the Douglasville home. No arrests were made in the shooting and it is unclear if more than one person carried out the shooting.

Trent Wilson, chief of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, told the Associated Press that shots were fired between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. Saturday. He appealed to potential witnesses to provide more information about how the shooting began and who was responsible.

“We knew there was a house party with over a hundred teenagers in attendance. A confrontation occurred resulting in two deaths and six gunshot wounds. Information is very limited at this time,” the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement posted on social media Sunday morning.

Wilson declined to give the names of the two dead, but he said they were under 18.

Douglasville is just over 20 miles (32 km) west of Atlanta, the capital of Georgia.
