WTF is Buccal Fat Removal?
According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the procedure aims to “thin the cheeks” by removing patches of fat from the patient’s cheeks.
“The goal of cheek fat removal is to thin the cheeks, especially in the hollow of the cheeks… Cheek liposuction removes the cheek fat, a natural piece of fat in the hollow of the cheeks. The size of the cheek fat pad varies from patient to patient, and the cheek fat pad on each cheek can vary in size.
It is also noted that “removal of fat can make the face look more haggard with age”. However, it is still a hot trend at the moment, and it has been attracting some attention on Twitter recently.
