God of War Ragnarok’s recap video makes the game’s story even more confusing

This is just a wild guess, but I don’t think I’ll be the only one with the first God of War game God of War Ragnarok. Lucky for me, the developers predicted non-players God of War (2018). When you start Ragnarok a very nifty option that appears at the top of the main menu, titled “God of War summarize. “

At first, I thought it would help people like me go in Ragnarok confidently know what happened in the previous game and what expect in this game. However, after watching it, I’m more convinced that it’s really for those who haven’t played yet God of War awhile. That’s because the one-and-a-half minute video transitions from scene to scene incoherently, and it’s delivered without context and or any of the first game’s actual live plot synopsis. first. Although I watched it, I have no clue what happened. So I decided it would be funny to write an article about what I think happened in God of War based on the official summary in Ragnarokmain menu of.

Let’s get started.

There was a big, strong, bearded guy named Kratos and a small kid named Atreus. At least I can understand this because, all of a sudden, I already know who they are. The game starts because Atreus’ mother passed away and he and his father wanted to scatter her ashes on a mountain top.

Kratos holds a small bag containing Atreus' mother's ashes. He looked at them solemnly as he gently hugged them.

It seemed like a rather difficult task since a random woman said that the area was the kingdom of the gods. I don’t know if that’s the part of the mountain they’re supposed to be in, but I’ll assume it is, because why on Earth would they want to get there otherwise. Kratos tells someone they are a god; however, I can’t tell if it was addressed to Atreus or to this woman, Freya. I’m assuming it’s Freya, because the synopsis shows her using magical powers that can make plants grow, and she hinted at being the leader of Vanir.

Kratos beheaded a man named Mimir and then promptly gave it to a giant dragon. I don’t know why Mimir invited Kratos to cut off his head, but the clip shows Kratos raising his head, so I think Kratos did it. Mimir mentions Kratos killing Odin’s children, who I guess are gods. Then Kratos gives a hot gossip about himself. Apparently he chose to be a man, but he’s actually a god. So I don’t know if he’s god or man or just a really strong man.

Atreus knew that he was a god. He said he was a giant but he looked normal height to me. That makes Atreus think he can do whatever he wants as a god, so then he goes and kills another god. (Somehow, this god doesn’t seem to be putting up a fight against a child.) Kratos seems annoyed as he screams and tells Atreus that there are consequences if you kill a god. .

Kratos took Atreus's hand and looked at him seriously. Atreus also frowned.

At this point, the story becomes more dramatic. Some other guys named Baldur in the picture. He doesn’t seem to like Kratos or Freya. And I assume that Kratos and Freya have bonded together, so I assume Freya is acting as Kratos’ instructor. But now things look bad because this Baldur guy got pissed, and Kratos twisted his head and killed him. I don’t really know why he was angry, but it could be that Atreus literally killed a god. Meanwhile Freya mourns Baldur’s passing and calls him her son, so I assume it’s her son.

Then Atreus mentioned that someone called him Loki and he asked about it. Kratos doesn’t seem interested in explaining anything! He deflected Atreus’ question. So I suppose Atreus is not just a god but a special one because Loki is a pretty important Marvel character.

In the end, we see them high above the clouds and somewhat peaceful, so it looks like they’ve accomplished their goal of scattering ashes. (Though again, I wish I knew why that was important.) The synopsis doesn’t say whether Atreus is directly related to Kratos, which seems pretty important. Overall, it looks like there are a lot of unresolved plot points from the first game that will be developed in Ragnarok. The summary isn’t great, but you know what? I just gave up looking up the wiki when I needed some more background information.
