The stars returned on Tuesday to watch the Golden Globes return to television, walking the soggy gray carpet in a relatively predictable look – with a few notable exceptions.

NO MORE worms
Heidi Klum, not long after dressing up as a Halloween worm, showed up in a sky-high silver glitter suit with a feather embellishment on one shoulder as the crowd was billed as a raging rain. in Southern California.
Also in silver? Angela Bassett, alongside Jessica Chastain in a sparkly body-hugging gown made in a plaid and star print design.
THE MAN
There are many black suits and tuxedos. Eddie Redmayne appeared in a brown outfit with a giant silk flower on a lapel, provided by Valentino. Another highlight: Colman Domingo in a black suit with glittering jewels.
Elvis, also known as Austin Butler, entered the building in a traditional black suit, while Andrew Garfield opted for orange with an open collar over a black shirt underneath.
Donald Glover was practically in the PJs. His comfortable cape and comfortable pants are white. His tux jacket is black. The look is Saint Laurent.
“I just want to be comfortable,” he said.
METAL
Sheryl Lee Ralph of “Abbot Elementary School” in a jewel-tone blue with chunky fabric trim led the parade train in a high-collar outfit. It was by Aliette. Viola Davis also opted for a body-hugging, jewel-toned blue outfit.
Chloe Flower, who will be performing a song on the show, took a longer train ride in a white, lightly decorated figure.
Niecy Nash-Betts wore a lovely dark purple dress with chunky sparkles, teamed with a large shouldered outerwear. Both are made by Dolce & Gabbana.
There’s also a healthy gold show, including the adorable 19-year-old Bailey Bass from “Avatar: The Way of Water” in a delicately patterned frock.
Michelle Williams wore an elegant ivory off-the-shoulder dress with gold trim. Her shaggy look includes a high slit.
The women kept their jewelry to a minimum.
COLOR
Pregnant Abby Elliott opted for burnt orange with ambient sequins from Pamella Roland. Her sparkly top had long sleeves and a high collar.
Jenny Slate comes in emerald green from Rodarte. She told E! about the plain dress with a large flower at the neck that she was aiming for “a woman about to turn into a miracle plant.”
Among the highlights is the E! presenter Laverne Cox in a sexy blue and silver goddess dress, with Old Hollywood curls. Her look is classic John Galliano.
Billy Porter walked in a crimson Christian Siriano tuxedo and silver high-heeled silver boots.
Anya Taylor-Joy wore a sunny yellow two-piece with a small headband top. Margot Robbie wore a pale pink Chanel dress decorated with beads and feathers, while Lily James went for Hollywood classics in 50 meters of red fabric. Her look was a custom Versace, a strapless dress with exaggerated hips and a criss-cross strapless top.
Jenna Ortega also chooses a criss-cross style with a gentle copper pleated color. It’s Gucci with a necklace by Tiffany & Co.
SPECIAL COOPERATION
Sepideh Moafi, an Iranian-American actress, wears a sequined black dress with distinctive touches. She worked on the look with Iranian designers Amir Taghi and Haus of Milad.
“The dress has many stories,” she told the Associated Press, “but the most important of them all is this flower, which represents a new Iran that is blossoming in this revolution.”
She was referring to the months-long wave of protests in Iran challenging the country’s theocracy.
BLACK
Jennifer Coolidge, Quinta Brunson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Natasha Lyonne. There is a healthy display of blacks.
Emma D’Arcy also wore black, matching trousers and a tuxedo skirt, complete with indigo gloves. They wore heavy makeup with a single blue tear streak under one eye.
“It’s not sustainable,” D’Arcy, who isn’t binary, told E! forced to present as a woman in the industry.
