WhatsApp will soon die on some models of Apple Iphone! The Meta-owned instant messaging app says it is ending support for iPhones running on iOS 10 and iOS 11, WhatsApp update tracker WaBetaInfo reports. By the way, WhatsApp has shown that iOS 12 and above is the minimum software requirement for iPhone users to operate WhatsApp. This means that iPhone 5, iPhone 5c users will not be able to use WhatsApp.
The WaBetaInfo report states: “WhatsApp has always been accustomed to removing support for some versions of Android and iOS, to allow the company to introduce some functionality that may not work on older operating systems.” And in this case, WhatsApp is currently planning to discontinue support for iPhones running on iOS 10 and iOS 11 in the coming months. With this, WhatsApp has started notifying iPhone users running on deprecated software versions.
“Update to the latest iOS version to continue using WhatsApp… WhatsApp will stop supporting this iOS version after October 24, 2022,” the announcement shared by WabetaInfo. A year ago, a lot of users reported that WhatsApp was planning to stop supporting iOS 10, but that never happened. Unfortunately, the news has now become a reality! Due to some internal reasons, WhatsApp is currently planning to discontinue support for certain iOS versions in the coming months: iOS 10 and iOS 11 in particular!
Which iPhones will NOT be able to use WhatsApp?
All iPhones currently running on iOS 10 or iOS 11 will stop accessing WhatsApp. That means WhatsApp will no longer be compatible with iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C as iOS 12 is not available on these smartphones. Even iPhone 6 or iPhone 6s will stop getting WhatsApp support, but these users can be relieved! They will simply need to update to the latest version of iOS available on their iPhone. However, for the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c, that’s the end of the road.
To update your iOS, go to Settings then General and tap Software Update to get the latest iOS version. Latest iPhone users, such as iPhone 13″iPhone 12, iPhone 11 or even others except iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c will be able to use WhatsApp without any worries.
