Grammy Award-winning singer Kandi Burruss provides supplies for 500 children
Atlanta, Ga. (CBS46) – Grammy Award-winning singer and television personality Kandi Burruss and her organization Kandi Cares provided supplies for 500 children during a back-to-school ceremony at the Jefferson Park Recreation Center in East Point on Sunday. Saturday.
Kandi Cares has partnered with Trial Attorneys Goodr, Nouveaux and Garner to give back to Atlanta-area families in need.
“Single families are a vulnerable part of our community,” said Goodr CEO Jasmine Crowe. “Even two-year income households are struggling to provide anything above basic necessities right now so events like these are essential. Goodr is honored to be partnering again with Kandi Cares on such an important initiative.”
Organizations that focus on food and school support, with a focus on single-parent families.
“With so much negativity in the world and the cost of living continuing to rise, we are excited to spread some positivity and help the families in our community who are in dire need of it. This initiative will provide single-parent families with the necessities for all of their back-to-school needs,” said Burruss.
Some back-to-school events are okay too hold throughout the metro Atlanta area on Saturday.
Burruss is best known for singing in the Atlanta-based group Xscape and for appearing as a cast member on the television show Real Housewives of Atlanta.
