Grayslake Family Members Share January 22 Birth Date in 200 Years Together – CBS Chicago
CHICAGO (CBS) – What are the odds that a family of four members have the same birthday?
That’s the reality for a northwest suburban Grayslake family, and on Saturday, January 22, all four will celebrate 200 years together.

It is a story that begins with two sisters. Sister Mary Beth Groholski and younger sister Janice Parro, born 5 years apart on the same day January 22.
Mary Beth Groholski said: “You know, when Janice was born on my fifth birthday, it probably wasn’t a blessing for me,” Mary Beth Groholski said.
And somehow, many years later, her sister Janice meets a guy named Tom Parro.
Tom Parro said: ‘We were sitting at a bar and talking and getting to know each other, and she revealed her date of birth.
Because he was also born on January 22nd. And when Janice told him her sister had the same birthday, Tom simply said.
“Interesting. We’ll work on that.”

And that’s exactly what they did, even when Matthew, Janice and Tom’s son came along – on January 22.
“You know, you know when Matthew was growing up really focused on,” said, “It was actually his birthday, you know. It’s our birthday. ”
This year Matthew and Tom will both hit big birthday milestones. Matthew turns 21 and Tom turns 60. The benefits of sharing the same birthday don’t change.
“That means my husband won’t forget my birthday,” says Janice Parro.
“It’s kind of special, no one will ever forget our birthday. Mary Beth Groholski added.
That includes when they can’t be together. The family threw a huge biennial birthday party on Saturday, with more than 70 people invited.
But because of COVID and to make sure everyone is safe, they are pushing that big party back to May 7th.
