For some reason, Greg Norman marched to Capitol Hill to campaign for the Saudi Arabia Golf Tournament to get Congress to do… something. And the man attacked!
Most people always think that golfers are some of the biggest kids on earth, and LIV Golf has done nothing to displease anyone from that notion. Everyone who had millions of dollars to play on another tour was shocked to learn that A) Not many people were interested B) People weren’t really interested in something Arab sponsored Saudi Arabia and C) The PGA tour will not exactly welcome you to and from another tour. And now they can’t stop stomping on anyone they might stand in front of, no matter what they say they’re wasting everyone’s time with.
“It’s propaganda,” said Representative Tim Burchett (R-Ten.) told ESPN. “I don’t want to hear about that. It is not the business of Congress to settle a war between a bunch of billionaires over the game of golf. They need to take it to court. Congress made a big mistake by participating in Major League Baseball. Here we are dealing with a [league] funded by some Saudis. I just think our priorities are gone.”
When Republicans in Congress tell you you’re an idiot who had a bunch of money in blood and walked away, you’ve lost. You have lost more than anyone has lost. What more do they want? They have money, they make their choices, and now when people tell them that, suddenly it’s not enough.
