Gregory Kelemen dead: South Jersey man accused of killing daughter, assaulting wife found dead in woods
According to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, the body of Gregory Kelemen, 57, was found in a wooded area near the 300th block of Preston Avenue. He appears to have a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Kelemen has been sought by the US Marshals Service and local authorities for allegedly killing 22-year-old Katherine Kelemen, and for allegedly trying to kill his wife.
Both victims were found by Voorhees Township police inside a home on the 100th block of Round Hill Road around 7 a.m. Monday after receiving a 911 call from the home. Both women suffered blunt force trauma related injuries from a baseball bat.
Katherine Kelemen was taken to an area hospital, where she died a short time later.
A neighbor who went to school with Katherine, who was traveling with Katie, said he was shocked and appalled when he heard the news.
“We used to go to friendlies, used to play football together. We used to walk to school together every morning. She sometimes drove me to school. She was a wonderful girl. I will miss her. That’s a lot,” said Tony Mascino.
Temple University says Katie is a student at the College of Liberal Arts.
Gregory’s wife is currently listed as critical but stable according to the hospital where she is being treated.
Temple University says she works at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine. The university encourages anyone affected by the tragedy to seek counseling services on campus.
