Fate 2‘S Guardian game will return to the Tower annually for the third time on May 3. As usual, players will do small quests to earn medals and submit them to increase their rank in the ranks. But this year Bungie is bringing back a requested feature for the duration of the event: Strike Scoring.
Instead of rushing through Strikes, players will be given special missions to deal the most damage possible, killing enemies in unique ways. This feature will show up in two different Strike playlists: Training and Competition. The Coaching playlist will run from Tuesday to Thursday every week. The rest of the week – Friday through Monday – players can switch to a Competitive playlist for better rewards.
By achieving a high score, players can unlock the torch in the Tower, which gives their Guardian a special glow on their right shoulder. Players can get the light on their left shoulder by spinning the medallions to help their class win. For their troubles, players will earn the new “The Title” submachine gun, which comes with an Origins special perk called Classy Contender (kills refund class energy).

Bungie is also making some minor adjustments to the medal deposit weights for the event – due to differences in player numbers between classes. Classes that fall behind and place second or third will receive a scale multiplier for the rest of the event. This will also take into account data from last season, meaning the Titans (who received third place last year, despite winning in 2020) will get the biggest boost. Warlocks will get a small boost for second, and Hunters will get very little boost since they win in 2021.
Finally, Bungie has announced some exciting loot to come Life 2 on May 24, with the new season. The seasonal ceremonial weapon will be a machine gun called the Chain of Command. Players will also be able to earn Horror’s Least Pulsed Rifle from Nightfalls, as well as their favorite DFA cannon. Trial Osiris will receive the Forgiveness party weapon and the Burden of Sin composite rifle.
