Guilford firefighters save lives during training exercise | Connecticut News

GUILFORD, CT (WFSB) – A local fire department was in the right place at the right time when an emergency occurred.

Officials said firefighters from Guilford were performing training exercises at the YMCA pool in Westbrook when a crew member noticed an unresponsive man surrounded by several people.

Firefighters worked together to administer first aid to the man, who was defibrillated using an automated external defibrillator located by the pool.

Thankfully, the man regained consciousness and was taken to an area hospital for further treatment.
