Hatboro police officer Ryan Allen has died after being stung by a bee that resulted in a traumatic brain injury


HATBORO, Pennsylvania (WPVI) – A Montgomery County Sheriff people are not likely to be stung by bees passed away last year.

Hatboro police officer Ryan Allen suffered a heart attack and severe brain injury after being stung by a bee on October 14, 2021.

Last month, doctors said Allen would not recover.

On Thursday, Hatboro Police Chief James Gardner announced that Allen passed away surrounded by family and friends.

“Police Allen will miss not only his family, but also our law enforcement brothers and sisters and our community,” Gardner said. “Although he fought long and hard, he was ultimately unable to overcome the damage caused to his body by the reaction.”

Officer Allen has been on the force since 2013. He helped start the Hatboro Police Department’s first K9 police program and was a member of the Montgomery County Drug Task Force.

Service arrangements will be announced by the Allen family at a later date.
