HBO TV series The Weeknd The Idol officially takes place

On Monday, November 22, HBO confirmed the series, now titled Idol, is running six episodes. According to the announcement, Amy Seimetz will direct the entire first season, with The Weeknd and Depp climbing roses set to be the star of the show.

The Weeknd has landed his next big gig, and it’s safe to say the singer has “Earned It.”
Based on Diversity, NS Starboy the performer is collaborating with Happiness creator Sam Levinson for the upcoming HBO series Idol. He will executive produce and co-write the series alongside Levinson and his creative producer, Reza Fahim, both credited as creators.
And yes, he’ll be starring in the show as well, but there’s no word yet on who he’ll be playing.
Diversity Reportedly the show will follow a Los Angeles pop star who begins dating a club owner. Big turning points? The club owner said he happened to be also the leader of a cult.
The Weeknd confirmed his participation in the show on Instagram by reposting stories and tagging HBO.
This will be the 31-year-old’s first major role. The star previously appeared in Adam Sandler‘NS Uncut Gemsand guest wrote and starred in a 2020 episode of American Father.
