Heatwave May Abate Over Delhi, Northwest From Tomorrow: Weather Office

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the heat wave is likely to ease over Delhi and neighboring areas of northwest and central India from Monday.
The weather office has forecast partly cloudy skies with a chance of thunder developing in isolated places such as Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, eastern Rajasthan and parts of Uttar Pradesh from tomorrow, capable of bringing some respite to residents from the scorching heat.
Meanwhile, the heat wave will ease over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Western Rajasthan from May 3, the IMD said.
Heatwave conditions in isolated areas of Vidarbha between 1 and 3 May; on MP, Chhattisgarh, Telangana & West Rajasthan on May 1 & 2; via HP, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, south UP, Kutch & East Rajasthan today. The attenuation of the heatwave across the region followed.

With light showers due to weak disturbances in the west, northwest and central India experienced the hottest April in 122 years with average maximum temperatures of 35.9 degrees Celsius and 37 degrees respectively. 78 degrees Celsius.
The Northwest region previously recorded an average maximum temperature of 35.4 degrees Celsius in April 2010, while the previous record for the central region was 37.75 degrees Celsius in 1973.
Scientists have warned that more than a billion people are at risk of being affected by heat in the region, linking the early onset of a hot summer with climate change.
