Speaking to ONE, ‘Buchecha’ gave his prediction for the highly anticipated main event, believing Andrade’s youth and drive will be the key to becoming world champion.
“I’m choosing Andrade. He is having good momentum in his career right now. He’s younger and hungrier, and he makes good use of his reach. I think these are great advantages in his favor! “
While he’s certainly young, you can’t mistake the drive of John Lineker, who has been a stellar mixed martial artist for nearly 15 years. With 35 career wins and an undefeated record in the Circle, ‘Hands of Stone’ has plenty of momentum to keep its ‘O’ on Friday night.
John Lineker believes Fabricio Andrade’s confidence is hiding his true feelings
Leading up to his confrontation with John Lineker at prime time in the US, Fabricio Andrade exuded confidence. The Brazilian knockout artist has been doing so since first calling Lineker shortly after entering the Circle for the first time in 2020. However, not everyone believes the confidence is real.
Speaking at the ONE virtual media day event in front of ONE on Prime Video 3, ‘Hands of Stone’ shared his belief that Andrade might be covering up some of his feelings going into the match. He reminded ‘Wonder Boy’ that he was the one to take on all the pressure, going into the match as the challenger.
“Yes for sure. I think he’s more emotional than confident. He comes in as the challenger so he has all the weight on him.”
With both fighters holding undefeated records in the Circle, there isn’t just ONE world championship hanging in the balance. Both fighters are competing for pride and supremacy in ONE Championship’s competitive bantamweight division.
