Highway 16 BC Traffic: Bus accident leaves 1 dead, 13 injured

According to the RCMP, a 71-year-old Abbotsford man has died and 13 others were injured after a semi-trailer truck collided with a passenger bus in northeast BC Saturday afternoon.
Mounties from the McBride detachment responded to the crash on Highway 16 just before 1:30pm
Police said both vehicles caught fire and the man driving the lorry died at the scene near the Alberta border.
They said 13 people on the bus, including the driver, were taken to hospital with minor to serious injuries.
According to the RCMP, one of the people from the bus was taken to the hospital, nine others were taken by ground ambulance and three were taken to the hospital by Good Samaritans.
Police also said it appeared the eastbound pickup lost control and collided with a westbound bus traveling from Edmonton to Prince George’s northern destination.
Police said all passengers on the bus were adults.
