Hot Wheels and Fender create a line of guitars inspired by diecast models
Hot Wheels has teamed up with Fender to release a unique line-up of 16 guitars and basses inspired by some of its diecast models. Same price as a old carThese are musical instruments displayed in a collection rather than smashed up after a show.
Each tool is modeled after a 1/6 scale Hot Wheels released over the past few decades. There is something in the collection for almost every enthusiast: the range includes Stratocaster, Telecaster, Jaguar, Katana, and Precision Bass. One of the notable omissions is the Jazz Bass. Designers drew inspiration from Hot Wheels’ eye-catching shows to create one-of-a-kind tools.
For example, the Night Shifter Stratocaster features a red bodywork with blue, yellow, and white accents – just like the diecast car. Its spec sheet is impressive: it’s built with the EMG JH “HET” bridge pickups and Floyd Rose dual-locking tremolo, among other hardware. For something a little more sophisticated, the Baja Truck Strat wears a gray paint job with mint green accents. Also, if refinement isn’t what you look for in a guitar, the Muscle Bound Stratocaster is painted in Cadallic metallic green with eye-catching graphics.
These instruments will be crafted by a master or apprentice builder in the Fender Custom Shop, and only one of them will be crafted. Neither is cheap: prices range from $10,500 for the Katana Katana Bad to $16,500 for the no-frills Precision Bass Night Shifter and Bull Whip Stratocaster. Buyers will also receive a set of Hot Wheels straps and grips, a custom-made carrying case, and the vehicle that inspired their guitar.
Cars and guitars make a great combination. In the year 2021, Jeep car and Wallace release a guitar Built with wood sourced from Packard Plants.
