House of the Dragon: All Dragons and Dragons

Dragon’s House has so far spent more time on politics than riding dragons in the first season, but in episode 7, the real dragons of House Targaryen take center stage for a short time. With Laena is deadHer dragon Vhagar has no rider, and while everyone else is grieving at her funeral, this has become the perfect time for a dragon novice to reclaim the oldest remaining dragon. in Westeros.

Now that Vhagar has a new rider, it’s worth taking a second to look at each dragon Dragon’s House established so far, whose side are they on and who is at the helm.

Riders: Laena (deceased), Aemond Targaryen

The largest and oldest of the Targaryen dragons of Westeros, and the only living remnant of Aegon’s conquest, Vhagar was once ridden by Visenya Targaryen when she, her brother, and sister ruled seven kingdoms. Vhagar then moved to Baelon Targaryen, before being claimed by the most recent rider (before episode 7), Laena Velaryon. After Laena’s death, the dragon remained without a rider for a short time before being claimed by Aemond Targaryen, whose gift was a dragon egg that had not hatched. Despite Vhagar’s age, she remains one of the most feared and dangerous dragons in Westeros, and is currently ridden by one of the Greens’ most fervent supporters.

Sunfyre

Rider: Aegon Targaryen

A bright golden dragon with pink webbed wings, Sunfyre was Aegon Targaryen’s dragon and a swift one, though far from the largest remaining of the Targaryens.

Dreamfyre

Driver: Helaena Targaryen

Dreamfyre is a pale blue dragon, older but slimmer than most. She was claimed by Helaena Targaryen at some point, although it’s not really clear if this will happen in episode 7.

Syrax

At the helm: Rhaenyra Targaryen

Rhaenyra may have been the first rider of Syrax, a dragon she named after a Valyrian goddess when the princess claimed to be a dragon at the age of 9. Syrax was as large and threatening as Caraxes, though Rhaenyra didn’t ride her into an actual battle.

Caraxes

Rider: Daemon Targaryen

Caraxes is one of the largest and most dangerous of the remaining Targaryen dragons, thanks in part to the fact that it was the most recent to have seen the fight. Caraxes have red scales and were ridden by Daemon Targaryen in many of the Prince’s battles around the world, most notably in the Steps.

Meleys

At the helm: Rhaenys Targaryen

Meleys are known as the Red Queen thanks to their red scales and pink wing membranes. Meleys is an old dragon now, but in her younger days, she was perhaps the most agile and agile of all the Westerosi dragons. However, despite her age, she is still fearsome in battle.

Vermax

Driver: Jacaerys Velaryon

Vermax hatched from the egg given to Jacaerys when he was an infant in a partial stunt designed to represent his status as an actual born Targaryen. Because of this, the dragon is still quite small over time Dragon’s House pick up the phone with Jace.

Arrax

At the helm: Lucerys Velaryon

Just like his brother’s dragon, Luke’s was born from an egg he was born with at birth. This means that the dragon is quite small at this point, but will get bigger over time.
