A source for E! News that the singer – who turned 40 on Tuesday, December 2 – and her fiancé Sam Asghari “excited to celebrate” her special day following the end of her decade-long conservatorship.
Britney and Sam are currently vacationing in Mexico, where insiders say the pair are having a “big celebration.”
“It was the first birthday where Britney didn’t feel like she was dying,” the source said. “This year, they’re delighted to congratulate Britney on aging because she’s finally grown into her true self.”
The insider added of the pop star, “She finally feels like she has a purpose and Britney wants to celebrate that to the fullest.”
According to the source, Sam is “doing his best to buy Britney presents” because the pair “want to live life the way they want and not look low on it.”
So what does a celebration fit for a Pop Princess look like? Britney gave fans a glimpse of that on Tuesday when she shared a montage video from her tropical getaway, starting with a large hot air balloon display wishing her a happy birthday.
