Monique, who is married Walter Jordan In 2012, she channeled her grief over her 2019 miscarriage into art. On Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day 2019, she shared on Instagram a short dance she filmed.
“On August 7, 2019, I had a miscarriage,” the actress wrote at the time. “For the first time in my life, I couldn’t put together the words eloquently enough to describe what I was going through in a meaningful and impactful way. However, when I learned that one in four women have it. A woman going through a terrible and inexplicable loss, I just found out. I can’t stay silent. I decided to use the language of dance to say things I couldn’t with words.”
She continued, “I pray that this piece fosters courageous conversation & healing and above all makes our brainchild #UNBORNtribute proud.”
