Hulu buys Sky British Paramedics Comedy ‘Bloods’ – The Hollywood Reporter

Hulu bought the US exclusivity for Blood, the British medical comedy from Sky owned by Comcast.

This news comes alongside news that a 10-episode second season of the show – made by Roughcut TV (Stath allows apartments, People just don’t do anything) affiliated with Sky Studios – has been ordered, with Katherine Kelly and Nathan Foad joining the cast alongside main stars Samson Kayo, who plays Maleek and Jane Horrocks, who plays his co-star and the other Wendy’s overly friendly divorce.

Hulu deal – includes second season – will watch first season of Blood will be available in the US on December 9. It follows a recent series of Sky comedies heading to US streaming platforms, with Frayed landed on HBO Max and Code 404, Intelligence and Hitmen All streamed on Peacock.

“I am so happy Blood Kayo said. “With 10 episodes, there will be plenty of laughter, friendship and fun for fans to enjoy.”

Horrocks added: “I’m looking forward to coming back Blood for (season) 2. The scripts were successful, and Wendy is getting more and more naughty! ”

Blood commissioned by Zai Bennett, Sky’s chief content officer, Jon Mountague, Sky Studios’ comedy director, and Tilusha Ghelani, editor for Sky Studios. Created by Kayo and Nathan Byron, the show was written by Byron and Paul Doolan (Trolled) and produced by Debbie Pisani (Flacks). New writers include Patrica Alcock, Tasha Dhanraj and Tom Melia. The executive producer for Roughcut is Ash Atalla (Office, IT crowd) and Alex Smith (Trolled). Bloods will be distributed by NBCUniversal Global Distribution on behalf of Sky Studios.
