Hurricane Ontario: Snow forecast for eastern areas
Much of southern Ontario is clearing away from a major winter storm, while snow is forecast to remain in parts of eastern Ontario.
Ottawa and much of eastern Ontario remain on a snowfall warning for Thursday, with most areas expected to be dug up to 20 centimeters of snow by the time the storm ends in late afternoon.
Severe winter weather has forced many public and Catholic school boards, including those in Toronto, Ottawa, York Region, Peel Region and Durham Region to cancel buses, but schools remain open.

The Hamilton-Wentworth School District Board of Education canceled buses and closed schools, but schools at Hamilton’s Catholic board remained open.
Environment Canada said on Thursday morning some areas west of Toronto including Halton, Peel and Hamilton could see up to or just over 25 centimeters of snow, while areas east to Prince Edward and Kingston counties You can also see how much snow accumulates at that level.
The storm disrupted travel plans for thousands of people on Wednesday after Toronto’s Pearson International Airport reported 25% of departures and 26% of arrivals had been cancelled, but as of Thursday morning , these numbers have dropped significantly.
