We have seen Prototype Hyundai Kona ran around for a while, but hyundai was surprisingly careful in keeping the camouflage thick on its next-generation subcompact. Cross each other. The company hasn’t teased a date for it either. So the surprise reveal of 2024 Hyundai Kona came as a bit of a surprise to us.
The design is clearly a blend of the brand Kona markings, such as contrasting fenders, low-set headlights and a pointed nose, and especially details from the Ioniq line Seven Concepts/Ioniq 7. Some of those features include full-width daytime running lights signature, full-width taillights, and pixelated textures. The inside looks extremely similar to ionq 5 and Ioniq 6 with a low, wide and simple dashboard and a pair of 12.3-inch screens for equipment and infotainment. It also uses the pole-mounted gear levers of those cars.
There are significant changes beyond the styling. The new Kona is slightly larger at 6 inches longer and 1 inch wider. The wheelbase is also 2 inches longer. Hyundai also claims that the Kona was first developed as an electric vehicle, then modified to accommodate an internal combustion engine. This will be good news on the packaging front. It will have a range of internal combustion options, as indicated by a regular pattern and N Line in the photo. And for the first time, there will be a regular mixture version.
Hyundai did not give any details on power, efficiency and other details. Those things will come in the near future. We expect that information to be available in the next few months in time for the launch of the new year model.
