Hyundai Kona Electric, Rivian range boost, California package: Car News Today

The Rivian truck has been given a range boost via air, and the company now says it’s official. California plans to double the number of EV chargers in the state. And a hybrid will join the next Kona Electric as part of this urban crossover lineup. This and more, at Green Car Reports.

The Hyundai Kona 2024 The lineup has already touted, and Hyundai says this time it’s an “EV-led design,” with a hybrid version also set to join the lineup. Look around for it to be a bit larger, with an upgraded exterior lighting and infotainment system that borrows from Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 EV’s “parametric pixel” lighting theme.

California announced a $2.9 billion plan will double the number of public EV chargers in the Golden State over the next few years, as well as expanding charging infrastructure for electric buses and commercial trucks. With other infrastructure funding from the federal government, the state maintains its goal of 250,000 chargers by 2025.

Rivian has improved cold weather survival with Snow mode and prerequisites for electric trucks R1T and R1S and, through a series of over-the-air updates, it has improved the range of these samples enough to warrant re-examination of the EPA. The official ratings for the R1T electric pickup truck and R1S electric SUV have increased to 328 and 321 miles, respectively.
