“I am quite confident they will win” – Gary Neville predicts the team to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar
Famous pundit and former English right-back Gary Neville predicted Brazil to win World Cup 2022 in Qatar.
Le Selecao has not won the tournament since 2002 and was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the 2018 tournament by Belgium.
Brazil are looking to win their record sixth FIFA World Cup trophy in Qatar and have all the tools to do the same. Coach Tite has built a prolific squad with names like Neymar Jr.Vinicius Jr., Raphinha, Richarlison and Casemiro, among others.
Neville believes the South American team has all it takes to win this tournament. When talking about the England team, the legend of Manchester United said (via Metro):
“We always feel we have great players in this country and so do we, but when you look at the Brazilian team, you think, ‘Oh my God – where did they come from?’ It’s the same when I go to tournaments. They have very special players. I’m pretty confident they’ll win.”
Brazil and its South American rivals Argentina have been widely touted as favorites for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Le SelecaoNeymar’s amulet is already in sensational form for Paris Saint-Germain this campaign. He has scored 15 goals and has 12 assists in 20 games in all competitions.
Brazil’s Rodrygo and Marquinhos wary of overconfidence ahead of FIFA World Cup 2022
Brazilian striker Rodrygo Goes admits they have a great squad but insists they will have to compete well on the pitch to win the trophy. He said (via Asianet Newsletter):
“We know that we have a great national team, that we are among the favorites. But there are also other perfect teams. There is no point in saying that we are loved. like and then go to the field and not show it.
“We know that everyone is in good form with their club, and that’s why they are here – many good players have been left out.”
PSG defender Marquinhos echoed Rodrygo’s sentiments and said:
“If we think we’re the favorites, that we’re the best, we won’t go through. We’ve seen how things go in this competition, which is very difficult. All both teams are ready and very balanced.”
Brazil will begin their FIFA World Cup campaign against Serbia on November 24, then they will face Switzerland on November 28 and Cameroon on December 2.
