“I don’t like my guy”
LeBron James triumphantly returned to Ohio with a compelling performance to lead LA Lakers through his hometown team, Cleveland Cavaliers. Four times MVPThe only regular appearance of the season in the arena as his hometown for many years brought back a lot of memories. He showed off his full range of moves, including a standout reel that reminded everyone of how good “King James” was.
One particular play in the second half caused the house to collapse as James darted straight into the lane to pick up a favorable assist from Austin Reaves. The Akron-Ohio native took off just inside the free-throw line to throw down a thunderous strike against his former teammate and good friend Kevin love.
The Cavaliers’ beloved big man had a hilarious reaction to James’s promotional poster:
“I will not have sex with my guy @KingJames for at least the next 48 hours!!!”
James and Love have enjoyed an incredible four years as the cornerstones of the Cleveland Cavaliers. They went to the NBA Finals each time they were teammates. Their stint was marked by the Cavs’ only NBA title in 2016 as they overcame the biggest upset in professional sports history.
During his playing years at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, Kevin Love witnessed more than a handful of times LeBron James’ rimmed hounds. This is the first time that he has misplaced such a prominent reel.
James was very remorseful after his rim attack caused the crowd to rage. Here’s his simple and heartfelt response to Kevin Love’s hilarious glitter burn:
“Forgive me!”
Ahead of the hilarious exchange, All-Star 18x weighed in in a post-game interview:
“Honestly, I hate being him… I hope I still get invited to the wedding… K Love, I love you. I wish I could get those two points back. We will still win the game by 9”.
All is well, however, as Love playfully headbutts James while laughing on the sidelines. The moving scene is very familiar, except this time wearing the opponent’s yellow and purple shirt.
LeBron James is currently the top scorer in the NBA
After LeBron James’ dizzying 38 points on shot 17-29, he now has a slight lead over MVP contender Joel MVP as the league’s top scorer. The Lakers superstar is currently scoring an even 30 while Embiid is at 29.8, about a decimal point ahead of Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The LA Lakers are likely headed for the play-in, which seemed impossible once the season kicked off. With the team struggling, LeBron James’ record-setting, including his ability to claim the scoring crown in his 19th year, is making the Lakers’ games all the more interesting.
Ironically, four-time MVP and Joel Embiid will go head to head in a mano-a-mano battle Wednesday at Crypto.com Arena. “King James” could make it difficult for the competition if he continues with his scoring frenzy.
