‘I wasn’t expecting this at all’: Family needs to be given a home just in time for Christmas – WCCO

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Minnesota family without a home received a special surprise just in time for Christmas.

All thanks to a non-profit organization called The best Christmas ever. The organization helps grant wishes to families during the holiday.

Pascale Darbonne said: “I did not expect this at all.

For the past several months, her family of six has lived in a hotel, struggling to make ends meet. All four children of the family have special needs.

“I told them we weren’t really going to have a Christmas, and we weren’t really going to do much,” Darbonne said.

But on Thursday morning, Christmas came early.

The Best Christmas Ever brought the family many presents, and the biggest of them all was a house. The nonprofit has chosen the Dabronne family as the recipients of their wishes.

“It was very overwhelming, not what I expected,” Darbonne said.

Best Christmas Ever, along with a production company, has raised $40,000 for the family over the past six weeks.

“We will support families for a year in one house,” says Declan Brown. Backpocket, a podcast production company. “We will pay their rent for the whole year. So we’re pretty excited about it. ”
