Illegar bar row: Delhi HC asks Congress leaders to delete social media posts on Smriti Irani’s daughter | India News


NEW DELHI: Delhi High Court (HC) on Friday issued summons against Conference leaders Jairam Ramesh, Pawan Khera and Netta D’Souza on a civil defamation lawsuit filed by the Union Minister Smriti Irani. Irani’s lawsuit seeks damages of more than Rs 2 crore for “baseless” allegations against her and her daughter.
The court ordered Congressional leaders to remove tweets, retweets, posts, videos and photos posted on the matter from social media platforms.
The court said that if the defendants failed to comply with the order within 24 hours, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube would also take them down.
Congress leaders have alleged that Irani’s daughter Zoish runs an “illegal” bar in Goa and demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi fire her as Union Minister from him. Room.
