A Winnipeg man is grateful to be alive after he was shot exterior his Elmwood neighbourhood dwelling early Thursday morning.
Joshua Carpenter says he went for a stroll round 1 a.m. Thursday to stretch out a leg cramp when he observed a suspicious group of individuals exterior his work truck within the 200 block of Poplar Avenue.

Carpenter was shot in his hip and hamstring.

He says the suspects sped off in a car with no lights on. He tried to get images of the car earlier than going dwelling and calling 911. He was rushed to hospital in steady situation and is now recovering at dwelling.
