‘I’m officially scared for my life’

In a new series of Instagram posts, YNW Melly appeared to plead for help and accuse the authorities of mistreatment.

YNW Melly: ‘I was threatened by deputies, lieutenants and sergeants’

The uploads arrived on Monday afternoon. Beneath two separate shots of different snaps, Melly talked about some of the experiences he is said to have faced while in custody.

He began by alleging that the authorities were isolating him completely in an “vacant unit”.

“As of this moment today, I officially feel fear for my life. A new Captain named Hubert and XO Jenkins have been taking over the prison for two weeks now and have given me even harsher punishments than the previous ones. Since December 1, I have been transferred to and in a unit that holds 24 prisoners at a time. I was the only prisoner kept in an empty room, without a telephone, without a television and without reading a newspaper.”

Melly went on to say that he is “being subjected to cruel and unusual punishment.” In addition, he accused specific officers of threatening him while in custody.

“I am being treated cruelly and irregularly at the hands of deputies and senior staff members of the Broward Sheriff’s Office. I was threatened by Deputies, Lieutenants and Sergeants saying ‘they will hide me from the world’ and threatening to ‘hit me** everyday and if I told my lawyer they would lie. and say I hit them first.’ Words of Sergeant Anthony Kidd and Lieutenant Jean Baptiste.”

Rapper says he hasn’t had phone privileges since early May

In a second Instagram post, the “Murder On My Mind” artist went on to share that his “phone privilege [have been] take indefinitely.”

“If I am treated like any other inmate at this facility, my phone pin will be restored and phone privileges will be returned after 30 days according to the manual. However, I have not had phone privileges since May 8, 2022 and have not had my phone pin returned since my first year here… indefinite deprivation for a violation of the harmless phone policy with a maximum penalty of 30 days! !!”

In his statement, YNW Melly was outspoken that he was “inside and surrounded to take care of the power that has attacked high authority delegates and captains”, who ostensibly disliked him. .

He ended by accusing, “I’m not safe in the hands of these people… I can’t live another day here.” He also asked to be “transferred to another county jail” as he awaits his court date.

“I am not safe in the hands of these people, especially if the highest command in the prison “doesn’t like me”. I’m scared for my life. My family is fearing for my life. I couldn’t do another day here. Someone please help me move to another county jail until I’m on trial. PLEASE!”

Melly is waiting for a double murder trial

YNW Melly’s update from behind bars comes as he continues to await his court date. He specifically has a double murder trial coming up, as he is accused of murdering Anthony “YNW Sakchaser” Williams and Christopher “YNW Juvy” Thomas Jr., two of his longtime friends.

Like Shade room was previously reported, Melly had previously faced the potential death penalty, although this has since been removed from the table for technical reasons. While he won’t have to worry about the death penalty, YNW Melly still faces a life sentence.

We should also add that, back in September, Melly and his cellmate were charged with conspiring to escape. Surprisingly, one of his lawyers was accused of being involved in the alleged scheme.
