Iman Shumpert Reflects on DWTS Victory Making History

“It means a lot,” he said. “I think with the NBA, we are a family, a fraternity at the end of the day. And any time I have to wear that hat to represent them, I try and do it the right way. I hope. Hope they will monitor and support.” He added, “I hope we did it fairly. I love my NBA family.”
Of course, Shumpert, whose wife is Teyana Taylor, also wanted to make his parents proud.
He told E! Believes his mother “watches this show a lot, loves this show, always talks about the costumes, the production, what it means to her.” The athlete explained that his dad and mom flew out to LA to see him perform but “couldn’t get in, because my dad tested positive for COVID.”
