Impostor syndrome: Workers who doubt themselves may be better at their jobs

People who find themselves much less assured at work have been rated as having higher interpersonal abilities, suggesting there could also be upsides to impostor syndrome

Folks with “impostor syndrome”, who really feel underqualified for his or her jobs, are inclined to make higher staff as a result of they compensate by striving to be likeable, empathetic and collaborative, new analysis suggests.

The time period impostor syndrome was coined in 1978 by two psychologists who studied girls with illustrious careers. These girls nonetheless believed they have been “actually not vibrant” and thought they’d risen to their distinguished positions via luck or error.
