IND vs ENG 2022: Sanjay Manjrekar beat Ravindra Jadeja in 5th test

Sanjay Manjrekar feels Virat kohli can yearn for the same clarity Ravindra Jadeja hitting his ball at the moment.

Jadeja scored 104 making 194 serves in India’s first inning of the ongoing fifth and final Test against England. His knock, along with Rishabh PantThe shining century helped Jasionary Bumrah’s side score a total of 416 runs across the board.

While reflecting on Monday’s game in a discussion on Sony Sports, Sanjay Manjrekar highlighted the clarity of shot selection that Ravindra Jadeja displayed in the middle, explaining:

“In this inning we saw Hawkeye, where he (Jadeja) was letting the ball even slightly outside the stump, playing them when it was close to the stump and pushing the serves. Virat Kohli could pray. that such clarity appears in his game, today Jadeja got it.”

The former Indian tennis player points out that the all-powerful bowler has incorporated discipline into his game to complement the talent he possesses. Manjrekar observed:

“Today, he has the belief that he can hit the ball in two hours. That’s the mark of a good-mind polisher. People want this clarity to be with them all the time. Lifetime. These things work automatically… pilot once a batter has taken shape. Talent has always been there, discipline has come now.”

Jadeja meticulously planned her rounds while Pant hammered and clamped on the other end. He takes pleasure in allowing the dashing hitter to capture the limelight and doesn’t try to compare him to the stroke hit.

Sanjay Manjrekar emphasized that Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin have similar numbers to the ball in both home and away conditions. He observes:

“When the test matches were played at home, two rotation players used to play – Ashwin and Jadeja, and Ashwin used to be well known but when Jadeja and Ashwin played together on the set in India, both their two numbers are equivalent. in SENA countries (South Africa, UK, New Zealand, Australia) as well.”

The commentator turned cricketer added that Jadeja stole a parade in front of Ashwin abroad due to his strength with the stick. Manjrekar says:

“So when you put your foot in an area, you know you’re not going to get out of this team. When you only have to play a spinner abroad, you’ve been given a chance because of the way you hit the ball.”

Jadeja has accumulated 1652 runs with an impressive average of 45.88 in the 35 Tests he has played since the beginning of 2017. During that same time period, Ashwin has aggregated 1115 runs at a level. a much lower average of 19.56 in the 42 Tests he played.
