The number of positives has increased to 4,72,169, accounting for 1.34% of the total number of positive cases of the country.
Meanwhile, the Omicron case statistics have increased to 3,071 cases, of which 1,203 cases have been discharged.
So far, a total of 27 states have reported the new variant, according to the department.
The recovery of 40,895 patients in the last 24 hours brings the cumulative total to 3,44,12,740. Hence, India’s recovery rate is 97.30%.
Additionally, during the same period, 15,29,948 inspections were carried out across the country, bringing the total to 68.84 crores.
With the administration of more than 900,000 doses of the vaccine in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID vaccination coverage reached 150.61 crores as of Saturday morning.
According to the Department, more than 17.88 balanced and unused doses are still available in states and UTs.
