(Reuters) – Indian taxi aggregator Ola and Uber Technologies (NYSE: Inc) are considering a possible merger, the Economic Times reported on Friday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

The report did not disclose financial details of a potential deal. Uber and Ola did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment.

The two companies have deployed it in a fiercely competitive Indian market and have spent billions of dollars in incentives and discounts for passengers. They have also recently launched newer services like food and grocery delivery.
